If you’ve followed my work for any time, you’ll know that I rate a good raw mayo as one of most essential components of a happy raw kitchen. With this recipe I have taken it to a whole new level. I was playing around, trying to make a hard cheese using Irish moss. I still need to pursue that idea because I think it might work, but on the way I got sidetracked by this amazing cream cheese. The addition of Irish moss makes it lighter, fluffier, and way more nutritious.

Raw Magic in the Bahamas

Kate is being hosted in Bimini by Jenny Yemaya and her team at the Atlantis Rejuvenation Centre. They will do everything to make your experience a magical, life-changing retreat. Please email rawdolphins@live.com with your questions.

The Atlantis Rejuvenation Centre is sited on the magical island of Bimini in the Bahamas. Beautiful weather, crystal clear waters, and the mystical Atlantean energies make this a truly idyllic setting. Spend your days practicing yoga, enjoying gourmet raw food, being inspired by Kate’s Raw Magic classes, and taking daily boat trips out to swim with the dolphins.

Itinerary:

We recommend guests arrive in Ft Lauderdale the day before (2nd Nov) and spend a night at a hotel on the beach as we fly out on the charter flight early on the 3rd. Guests arrive mid-morning on Sunday 3rd, for lunch and the first dolphin trip of the retreat. On Friday 8th, we finish at lunch time so you can catch the charter flight back to Florida. If you would like to stay extra nights, please contact us to make arrangements.

Your ticket price includes five nights new, shared, stylish accommodations at The Atlantis Rejuvenation Center (or separate luxury accommodations by arrangement at Bimini Bay Resort & Spa, prices below). Five dolphin excursions (from around 3pm to sunset daily) & three extended snorkel trips to The Stones of Atlantis, The Three Sisters Cave & various coral reefs & wrecks, including complimentary snorkel equipment. Five days of breakfast, lunch & dinner gourmet raw food meals, snacks on the boat, water & herbal teas. There will be yoga on the beach every morning. Kate will teach three hours of raw food instruction every day, and will be sharing her most up-to-date, innovative and fun recipes on the course. We can’t say what they are yet, but be assured that each will take raw cuisine to a level you will rarely experience.

Accommodation:

The ARC is for people happy to share dormitory style accommodations in adult sized comfortable bunks with shared bathrooms. There are two dorms with six beds and two dorms with four beds in each. The centre has the best sunrise views overlooking the bay and is two minutes from the best beach on the island with stunning sunsets.

For those happy to pay more for private 5* accommodations and en-suite facilities, we have an arrangement with our neighbouring resort Bimini Bay in either private studios for 1 or 2 people, or condos with 1 and 2 bedrooms.

Dolphin Trips:

We are lucky to work with an experienced, fun and responsible captain. We head out to the dolphin grounds five days each week. Through years of data collection, our captain has terrific odds of finding the dolphins at the times when they are most playful. While we can never guarantee dolphins, we feel that we can give you the best chances of having the dolphin interaction you are looking for.

The dolphins are totally wild and we take special precautions to make sure that they are not mistreated, fed or hurt. Since they are free to do as they please, they only play with us when they want to. They are incredibly fast and can leave us whenever they like – which makes it all the more special when they stay (and they often do!) The boat has been recently overhauled with a new bathroom and decor. All snorkel equipment is included.

Please be aware that these are provisional prices, and we will do our very best to keep them as quoted, but we may need to adjust them due to the fluctuation in exchange rates. Additionally, if you book a room at Bimini Bay resort, and they put their prices up for next season, our prices will need to reflect that accordingly. For this reason, we are just taking initial deposits of £500 to enable you to reserve your place on the retreat. Additional Costs:

We strongly recommend you take out travel insurance. There is a possibility of hurricanes in that area, and if the trip was cancelled due to a natural disaster, you want to make sure you are covered.

Bimini is just 50 miles off the coast of Miami and Ft Lauderdale, Florida, so you can fly to either as there is a shuttle between the two international airports. Our charter flights leave out of Ft Lauderdale at 9.30am, so we advise guests to stay a night in Ft Lauderdale the night before. We recommend The Bahia Mar Hotel and can arrange group rates if necessary for you. The charter flight is usually in the region of $180 pp, although we need to check at time of booking for fuel surcharges, etc.

Everything else is covered in the ticket price: accommodation, food, and all activities for six days.

Think about your life right now, compared to how it was a year ago, two years ago, five years ago. Is it considerably better? For me and most of my friends, things are on the up. The struggles of recent times seem to be fading into the past, and fate appears to be on our side. I would say that this is all part of the great shift that we are in right now: the energies are pushing in our direction, towards a more connected lifestyle where the feminine values of compassion and co-operation take precedence over the more masculine values of selfishness and competition, and putting the home, family, and creativity comes first over accumulating status and wealth.

It’s easy for me to say this from where I’m sat; my life is filled with people working for change, people doing their best to create joy and love on the planet. When I take a wider view though, it’s apparent how we are still very much in the minority. The way I see it, a lot still needs to happen for people to wake up, stop stagnating, and move in the right direction, towards living in harmony with the earth and at peace with eachother. I have faith and I have hope, but when you look at everything that’s going on in the cold light of day, it all looks pretty impossible.

Salty Sumac Space Invaders

In Iceland one time, Solla showed me her recipe for salty chocolate which involved some dehydrated crunchy and salty almonds and some Icelandic dulse. Like everything Solla makes, it was sublime. Pacari, an Ecuadorian chocolate company, also make a very popular “Salt & Nibs” chocolate. Here, I’ve combined course grains of Himalayan salt, with my favourite spice, sumac, and some rich vanilla tones to make an unusual but quite addictive chocolate. Of course, making it in space invader moulds is optional…

Interview with Anaiya Sophia

It’s hard to get across in an audio interview just how wonderful Anaiya is. Sometime soon, I will do a video interview which will capture her sparkle better. As a kundalini yoga teacher, she wrote the book Open your Heart with Kundalini Yoga under the name Siri Datta, and inspired many people with her energising and uplifting kundalini classes and workshops.

Now, she travels and teaches about Womb Wisdom, rediscovering the power of the sacred feminine, and the Alchemy of Love, understanding the process of Sacred Union.

Here’s what Anaiya says about her work.

Everything that I write, teach and share is all coming from my direct personal experiences. My heart’s desire is to contribute towards the correction and healing of all gender based emotional injuries. So that we, as true Men and Women can open up to the real power of Love, coming from our Creator. I’m hoping that if you’re reading this, the idea that we create our reality with our thoughts, and everything we view around us is simply a projected vision of our own internal state, is an idea that you have come to love and accept. But the concept that we are always seeing mirrors, and mirrors of mirrors, which all go towards making this holographic universe, is something I think still causes confusion so I wanted to expand on it a little.

Firstly, the world is our mirror. We cannot see the world as it is, because as quantum physics has proved, we change a thing merely by looking at it. Just as the face you see in the mirror is the opposite face from the one everyone else sees (if you have an Apple mac, turn on iMovie and watch yourself through the internal camera, it’s freaky), the life you view around you is seen from the opposing direction by everyone else looking at it. Others can see us more clearly than we ourselves ever will; we always have a twisted perspective on our engagement with the world, because we find it impossible to fully take into account the way we alter the situation by being a part of it.

Rum Truffles

Oh yes. Yes yes yessity yes. When I was a kid there was a bakers at the bottom of our road, and every Saturday, it was a treat that we could buy any kind of cream cake for Saturday tea. Chocolate eclairs, cream horns, cherry bakewells, jam donuts, you probably recall the standard fare that was in offer in an English bakery in the early 80s. My favourites were the rum truffles, a chocolate and cream affair, coated in chocolate hundred and thousands. So when I saw the rum medicine flavour extract, my first thought was “rum truffles!” I invented these around the same time as the Shepherds Pie and I can’t tell you how much joy it gave me to enjoy my Shepherds Pie along with a rum truffle and a glass of “cherryade” (cherry flavoured kefir). It evoked all those reassuring and comforting feelings of my 70s childhood, making me feel secure, grounded and nurtured.

I’m just testing the sell-by on them. If they have any kind of a shelf life, we are going to start selling them.

Interview with Dolly Knight of CIR

Dolly and her partner Jonathan founded the Centre for Implosion Research in 1997. Dolly gave up her work as a GP to focus on researching the work of Viktor Schauberger, who pioneered the idea of implosion technology at the beginning of the 20th century. Screaming from the Rooftops

It’s all a fine balancing act – between awareness of the problems humanity is facing, and not giving them too much attention so we become a part of them.

Dear Kate,

Thank you so much for all you showed us on the course at your house. It was a lovely group and I learnt so much. Back in Lanzarote now and I’ve made lots of changes!! I am now soaking my seeds, I have an indoor greens growing outside, they are already shooting up … just wanted to check that I can eat the hemp seed shoots, I’ve done hemp, pumpkin and sunflower. I have made the fluffy mayo and tonight we’re having the kelp thai yellow curry! I’m also doing the hemp croquettes from Shazzie’s book in the dehydrator, my first go dehydrating. I have ordered some kefir from the same guy you bought yours from, so hopefully I can make some of the drink and give some away soon to friends.

I am loving hemp seeds so much, Dax is drinking the hemp milk in addition to my milk and I’m loving experimenting with Lucuma and Maca in his food, instead of giving him fruit fruit fruit. He loves chia seeds too! And I’m sprinkling seaweed on his food as well as getting him used to green juices … luckily I have a baby that’ll eat anything and everything. He also has a little squirt of the B12 spray I bought (is this ok?).

My head is full, and my thirst for knowledge is driving me a bit insane. I have got quite emotional about stupid things recently (like today when the guy in the supermarket insisted on putting the one garlic I was buying into a bag, taping it (so hard to reuse) and then insisting all my fruit and veg had to go into separate bags, I just had enough … bags bags bags everywhere here, they put clingfilmed fruit and veg into bags, then into carrier bags, it drives me insane). Anyway, my point is I get sad about how the world is ticking over.

The more I learn about nutrition and eco living the more sad I get. I was living in blissful ignorance before and now I’m not even happy about the fruit and veg I’m giving Dax because it’s not always organic. I’m trying my best but out here in Lanzarote it’s hard. I have a father (who was a GP with typical GP views) who is dying of cancer, but managed to get him to ready the first few chapters of The China Study when he was here, he said, “If I was 50 years younger, it might have made a difference, but it’s too late now”, I have friends telling me that “Humanity has gotten along just fine eating meat and dairy”, I have Dax’s grandparents on both sides wanting to give him ‘normal’ food …. I just want to grab him and Lynton and jump and live in your bubble!!!!

I guess it’s a lot for me to take in, your course really opened my eyes to a lot of things. I’ve been vegetarian the minute I found out you didn’t have to eat meat (age 9), so I have always known there is something better. I don’t know how you cope watching people going about their everyday lives in blissful ignorance about what’s good for them and what’s not. I don’t want to ever come across as preachy or smug ever but I am finding it difficult to not want to scream it from the rooftops when people criticise or goad me about being vegan. We are all so misinformed, it really is playing heavily on me, I can’t shake it. I feel duped!

Anyway I was really wanting to write to say thank you, you answered all our questions so eloquently and sincerely and showed us some great stuff. It was such a lovely day with you and it has changed the way I eat and look at food. I am aiming one raw meal a day at the moment.

I guess there’s not enough Klamath Lake Algae for the whole world anyway, but I wish things were different and we weren’t messing everything up on the earth and being so cruel and misled.

Thanks a million Kate, you’re a very inspirational person.
