The Recipe for a Brighter Day

Life is Like a Plate of Cake

October 24, 2011  |   Cake,Recipes,Writing   |     |   5 Comments

You might think that’s a fairly obvious thing to say, coming from me, but bear with me, and let me explain.

When you make a cake, you have a basic understanding of what elements you need to include to make it taste good. As we’re naturally talking raw chocolate cakes here, we would say we need a substantial amount of lucuma and cacao as the base. We know if we put too much agave in it will be too sweet and too many nuts will make it too heavy. We add a few drops of essential oil for flavouring, and some superfoods to make it exciting. Really good cake making, achieving just the right balance of flavours, is alchemy, and so is life.

Wow, u’ve done it again. TIMING! TIMING! TIMING! I have been thinking a lot recently about the balance in my life or lack of it and I am finding it really difficult getting it right as I am an extreme person; I feel the need to meditate so I do it for hours and dont have time for anything else; I feel the need to nourish myself and my family correctly so I spend all the hours in the day cooking or thinking about the next meal and what will be the best thing for everyone; I feel the need for exercise so all day…. I think you get the picture and no matter what I do, I always feel I dont have time for my 2 beautiful little angels because play time with them is so precious to me as they are growing up so fast and I feel I am missing it.

I know the ideal way is to just feel and listen inward to what is best for the day, the moment, the situation but I never seem to be able to or I spend so much time feeling I never get anything done so what is ur advise to get it all to fit into one day? Without taking too much time feeling it?

    HEEEELLLPPP!!! :-)
